No Homework!

We've been learning to write a convincing argument. Here is Zain's persuasive writing to a Newspaper Editor which is particularly convincing. It has a good balance of detailed points with emotive language. (It is his first draft, written for a moderation exercise and hasn't been proofreadbut I have adjusted some grammar to make it more understandable.)Well done, Zain

To the Editor

I really don't think kids should get homework. It's TERRIBLE because...

Kids already spend a few hours to do work at school anyway. When you go back home you relax not doing work again. You won't have enough energy for school if you're using it in the home all the time. Kids will get tired and their brains will get fuzzy and won't do well in their work.

It really gets annoying when you have to do it every single day. Teachers will even get free because they set the homework for the kids. Kids might have other stuff to do at home maybe. Kids might be able to bring their REALLY important stuff.

It can be really hard for the kids at times. Maybe it is so hard their brains will explode and they won't be able to work at all. Maybe there are SOO many things to do at ONCE. They will have really bad times. So remember, it's not good to do homework all the time.
